Hexadata HD-R4100 Version : SPR-02/60 is a high-density storage server powered by 4th/5th Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processor, features 60x 3.5" HDDs and 2x 2.5" SSDs hot-plug drives and hot-swappable fan module with easy serviceability in a simple 4U enclosure. Hexadata offers efficient computing power, storage capacity, and flexible I/O expansibility. This enables optimized workload for synergy across network, computing and storage. Provides a higher virtualized workload throughput and number of VM density and helps to adapt quickly to changing business computing needs.
Hexadata is an industry-leading storage server that supports the new 3rd Gen Intel Xeon processor, with TDP of up to 300W. It provides exceptional performance with up to 60 cores, 80 lanes of PCIe Gen5 connectivity, and up to 4TB of memory across 16 DIMM slots per processor. In addition, it has up to 300MB L3 cache, helping accelerate memory intensive workloads. The embedded x86 silicon-level data enables Hexadata to offer Secure Memory Encryption (SME), which help secure the boot process, encrypt the entire main memory, and Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV), which can secure virtualized environments and container. Hexadata is well guarded, which helps decrease potential attack surfaces and enable better protection of software and data.
Hexadata offers a variety of hot-pluggable hybrid flash array choices within the 2U form factor. It's composed of 60 LFF HDD bays and 2 rear side SSD bays and provides multiple storage options for greater flexibility and scalability. Including NVMe support in the rear for a caching layer, 1x M.2 connection, and a variety of storage AIC cards Besides, it supports up to 4TB of DDR4 memory. By hosting 6x PCIe slots (x16 6 Nos. FHFL) without riser cards, Hexadata is an ideal hybrid system for warm storage and applicable for further storage applications. Optimizing the ratio of SSDs and HDDs can highly accelerate IOPS and throughput performance while the excellence of storage capacity is delivered.
Hexadata offers an Standard AIC NIC option, ranging from 10G Ethernet to 100G (optical or Base-T,). This allows high-speed performance and I/O flexibility, catering to suitable demands of different application procedures.

Automatic Fan Speed Control
Hexadata servers are enabled with Automatic Fan Speed Control to achieve the best cooling and power efficiency. Individual fan speeds will be automatically adjusted according to temperature sensors strategically placed in the servers.
Optional TPM 2.0 Module
For hardware-based authentication, the passwords, encryption keys, and digital certificates are stored in a TPM module to prevent unwanted users from gaining access to your data. Hexadata TPM modules come in either a Serial Peripheral Interface or Low Pin Count bus.
To take advantage of the fact that a PSU will run at greater power efficiency with a higher load, Hexadata has introduced a power management feature called Cold Redundancy for servers with N+1 power supplies. When the total system load falls lower than 40%, the system will automatically place one PSU into standby mode, resulting in a 10% improvement in efficiency.
For management and maintenance of a server or a small cluster, users can use the Hexadata Management Console, which is preinstalled on each server. Once the servers are running, IT staff can perform real-time health monitoring and management on each server through the browser-based graphical user interface.

Reed-Solomon Erasure Coding

Automatic background rebuild of missing stripes after disk or node failure. Rebuilds in seconds/minutes vs. hours for RAID — only affected data is repaired.
Mixed-Generation Nodes
Different server generations, CPUs, and disk densities co-exist in the same RING. Online expansion with automatic data rebalancing — no application downtime.
AWS S3 & REST APIs
Full S3-compatible API: PUT/GET/DELETE, multi-part upload, bucket versioning, lifecycle policies, cross-region replication, S3 Object Lock (WORM).

Scality ARTESCA is a lightweight, Kubernetes-native S3 object storage solution designed for edge, remote sites, and cloud-native backup use cases. It delivers the same Scality S3 API compatibility as RING in a compact, software-defined footprint on HexaData hardware.

ARTESCA can be considered as a complementary, low-footprint backup target or DR replication endpoint — receiving async replication from RING for ransomware-resilient data protection, or serving as an S3-compatible tier for Veeam/Commvault backup workloads on HexaData hardware.
